Holiday Gift Guide 2019

Thanks for reading Pastor and Pen in 2019. Why not get something “outside the box” as gifts for those you love this Christmas? I’m here to help. Below are three pen, ink, and notebook combos. You’re welcome.

Good

You can’t beat the Pilot Metropolitan. It’s a fantastic starter pen, and an all-around great writer. Pair it with a Leuchtturm notebook. This is a giant step up from the ubiquitous, but horrendous, Moleskine. Toss this pen and pad into a gift bag, along with these cartridges, and surprise a friend for less than $50.

Better

The TWSBI Eco is a reliable, fun pen. It’s a piston filler, requiring bottled ink, so match it with a quality bottle of Diamine. Add in this great Stalogy notebook, and you’re good to go - for less than sixty bucks. Wrap it up. Skip the gift cards.

Best

This trio is a pretty big step up. Why not surprise a fountain pen lover with something great? Or fully submerge someone in the hobby from the start? Just be sure to let them know what they’ve got in their hands. The Lamy 2000 is known as one of the best pens ever made. This Seven Seas journal, made of smooth Tomoe River paper, is as good as it gets. Add to that gift bag a bottle of what’s considered the world’s best ink, Pilot Irishizuku. This will set you back around $200, but you’ll be setting up that family member for a life of enjoyable writing.

Merry Christmas from Pastor and Pen!
